Motion

We make brands move: from the small animations in an interface to the film you launch with, drawn from the same system as everything else.

Process

A project usually takes about four weeks, in three steps.

Week 1

We start with a call, then a questionnaire: what the motion has to say, where it will live and how long people will look at it. From there, the moodboards, a first script or storyboard, and the first styleframes.

You decide: The look, and the story the piece tells.

From you: The brand if it exists, where the piece will be shown, and your deadline.

You get: The moodboards, a storyboard and the first styleframes.

Weeks 2–3

This is where most of the work happens. The styleframes become an animatic, a rough cut that sets the timing, then the animation itself, refined pass after pass.

You decide: The rhythm: what lasts, what cuts, what moves first.

From you: Feedback on each cut, from the people who will decide.

You get: An animatic, then the animation getting closer to final with each pass.

Week 4

We finalise the animation, the last details and the sound if there is one, and prepare every export.

You decide: The last frames before delivery.

From you: The formats and sizes you need, for the web, social or the launch.

You get: The final files, ready to publish.

Price

Projects start from $10k. For ongoing work, a monthly retainer runs from $7k to $14k.

Questions

Do you also do 3D?

Yes, when it serves the idea. Some projects need it, many do not.

Do you work with other studios?

Sometimes, with friends we trust. On Premune we made the illustration and motion with Grand Carnival.

Can motion come after the brand?

Yes, but it is better when it is thought of at the same time, so the brand is made to move.
